Meet Some of Our Members
Here is a list of some of our members who have chosen to make their profiles public.
Afraid of Speaking in Public
Afraid of Speaking in Public?
EVERYONE is afraid of speaking in public. Even if you think you're really good at speaking, there will come times when your heart stops beating your palms sweat and you freeze before an audience. Toastmasters helps deal with such a situation.
Remember that EVERYONE in a Toastmasters club is there because at some point they realized they needed help communicating and speaking before audiences. Almost everyone will remember how wretched they felt when they gave their first speech. You may be startled to find out how supportive a Toastmasters club really can be.
If you're aware how nervous you are but aren't convinced that you should do anything about it, stop and think what skill is most important when it comes to getting and keeping a good job?
Think you're already an excellent speaker? People who think they're really good sometimes come into Toastmasters and find out how much more there is to learn. Being comfortable doesn't mean that you're actually GOOD. Even if you ARE good, you can always get better. Toastmasters can give you a lot of skills and experience which enhances your speaking skills .
If you still don't know whether you'd like Toastmasters, why not visit a meeting? If you still don't think it's your cup of tea, we'll still be happy you came by.
There are two kinds of people who decide to join Toastmasters:
1. The ones who have something to say, and need a forum to let it all out, and
2. The ones who have something to say but are too shy or reserved to ever say anything in public.
Which one are you? The first? The second?
Please rest assure that every one of us in Star of Arabia, whether a Club Officer, a seasoned member, or a relatively new member, took a great big leap when we joined Toastmasters, and we are glad we took that first step.
Everyone here gets so much out of the Toastmasters program and warm community of well-wishers than they could have ever expected.
Star of Arabia always welcome people with open arms irrespective of whether you become member or not.

The atmosphere in Star of Arabia is friendly and supportive, an environment where you have permission to make mistakes – with the assurance that you will always learn! You get to keep your job, your pride, your freedom to express, and an opportunity to grow at your own pace while helping others to do the same.
We meet once every two weeks in the evening from 7:15 pm to about 9:30 pm. A relaxed, pleasant and fun way to spend two evenings in a month, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
